Dolor Deis means "The sorrow of God" in Latin. I had a much longer name translated, but I can't remember how to put it. Essentially it should read "the sorrow of God is great for me, his wandering son" in latin. This is oil on canvas. That's an understatement. It's LOTS and LOTS of oil on canvas. I used a whole bottle of sun thickened linseed oil and half a bottle of stand oil and it took three months to dry completely. It was a pain in the ass trying to keep dust off of it when it was wet. Okay, so I categorized this as an abstract, but it's really just a close up of an older man's eye. I've interpreted the image quite a bit since it was a photo, yes, but it's still a person and should technically be labeled as such, but I'm feeling awkward. Enjoy.
Rough, wild, I think it's very powerful. Kind of dirty and clean at the same time.
How big is the painting? I would imagine it to be nice and scary if it is really big.
I have most of my work for sale on my website, which is at the moment still an infant, but I should have most of my work up as soon as I get my next show underway. Thanks for the interest, it's sincerely appreciated.

In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
